Week 2 - Week 3

Joe Xu, PPJ 1 Tasks:

  1. Meet with the whole team and discussed about our roles. Evaluate ourselves and what we can do : 2 hours

  2. Talked with the programming team and learned how the code is working. 1.5 hours

Total Hours: 3.5 hours

Positives: We discussed a lot on the first meeting and I’m pretty exciting to join team Momentum. We clarified on our roles in the team. I think we had a great start. Negatives: It was hard to catch up on a new game in this short amount of time. I think there is still a lot more to learn to understand how the game is working in the current phase. Upcoming: Alex is gonna assign tasks for us next week and it will give me a better understanding of my role/job in the team.

Week 3 - Week 4

Joe Xu, PPJ 2 Tasks:

  1. Integrating a dialogue/cutscene system for interactions between characters. : 3 hours Total Hours: 3 hours

Positives: We all got assigned tasks from leaders. I think we are pretty well organized on our second week. Negatives: Still have some confusion on how the game works. Need some time to get used to it. Upcoming: Not sure yet. Probably work on something new on the UIs.

Week 4 - Week 5

Joe Xu, PPJ 3 Tasks:

  1. Player Indicator and Enemy Indacator. : 2 hours
  2. fix character profile for dialogue.: 0.5 hour

Positives: Everything goes pretty well. The tasks are a little challenging. Negatives: Nothing bad this week, but it seems hard to gather all the people to the meeting. Upcoming: Not sure yet.

Week 5 - Week 6

Joe Xu, PPJ 4

  1. Implement text speed slider. : 1 hour Total hour of work: 1 hour

Positives: We got our tasks assigned without a meeting this week. I think Alex did check with everyone privately on the progress which is great. And I have no problem with my task assigned. Negatives: Due to some reasons we were not able to meet this week. It seems like everyone is quite busy during midterm weeks.

Week 6 - Week 7

Joe Xu, PPJ 5 Tasks:

  1. Create a tutorial scene with dialogue. :5 hours

Positives: It is kind of hard for me to figure out all the code but I still made it work. Negatives: It is really hard to read through and understand all the code written by lots of other people and make the function work. Upcoming: Not sure yet.

Week 7 - Week 8

Joe Xu, PPJ 6 Tasks:

  1. Replace Enemy UI health to hearts. : 3 hours Total 3 hours

Positives: I think I learned a lot on how to do the heart UI system. Negatives: I could not figure out how to put up a sprite on Wolrd space. The sprite is not showing up on screen. We used to use screenspace overlay for all canvas but this is not working for Heart UIs.

Week 8 - Week 9

Joe Xu, PPJ 7 Tasks:

  1. Work with Yash on the dialogues. 30 mins
  2. Create a scene to go through lines between characters before game start. 2 hours

Total: 2.5 hours

Positives: The dialogue system is finally gonna to be used in game. Negatives: We did not have a group meeting this week and I started my work pretty late this week.

Week 9 - Week 10

Joe Xu, PPJ 8 Tasks:

  1. Level Creation: Forest Level 2 : 2 hours Total 2 hours

Positives: It is kind of interesting to work on something new. It is good to see there are so many new levels coming out. Negatives: Nothing negatives, it took a lot of time for me to figure out how the hex cordinates works.

Week 10 - Finals Week

Joe Xu, PPJ 9 Tasks:

  1. Sending out playtests : 0.5 hours Total 0.5 hours

Positives: This is an easy week for me because my task it easy. Negatives: Nothing too much going on this week. Just a lot of play tests.
